I feel like Spanish kind of dropped the ball with the translation of “haunted” but whatever.
To say “haunted” as in “has a ghost in it”, the word is embrujado/a making a “haunted house” la casa embrujada. The problem I have with that translation is that it’s related to the word brujo/a which means a “wizard/witch”. It literally means “bewitched”; and to me “bewitched” is when a witch casts a spell on an object.
But then again, witches were linked with evil spirits from the Dark Ages and even before. It just sounds strange now to think of witches and ghosts being linked.
